Randy joined our Music Ministry as the Contemporary Choir Director in October, 2021. He was born in Melrose Park, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago and started his career in music at the age of 9 taking guitar lessons with Stu Pierce. He actually played one of the first guitar Masses in the Archdiocese of Chicago at his parish St. John Chrysostom in 1966. He received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in music theory, at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. He also studied voice throughout college. He was choir director at his home parish, Sacred Heart in Melrose Park, in the mid to late 1980’s. In 1996 he was hired as music director at Our Lady of Lourdes in Chicago. In 2008 he left that parish to become music director at his home parish of Sacred Heart where he stayed until the end of December 2019. Due to COVID, there was a hiring freeze in the archdiocese so God led Randy to Fort Worth and Holy Family Parish. We’re so happy to have him!
